【Reader's Response】
Most of people may be familiar with the story of 《The Three Little Pigs》more than this one, and that's why I chose this book to read. In my previous concept, the pigs were always innocent and the wolf was a bad guy. However, when I saw the name of the book《The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig》, I was wondering and curious about how the plots would be because the characters are contrary to the original version!
The size of words is moderate to read for both children and adults, and the pictures are very large and clear, so I really enjoyed the visual harmony of the texts and pictures while reading the story. The word choice, in my opinion, some of the words are not quite simple, for example, there were words used for building materials and tools. Therefore, as a college student, I was still learning some vocabulary from this picture book and sometimes I even needed to look up the dictionary for words which I'm not familiar with.
The end of the story was a happy ending. Although the bad pig destroyed the houses the three little wolves built again and again, the wolves still became friends with the bad pig after he turned into a big good pig. In the story, the wolves didn't plan to kill the bad pig. Instead, they kept trying different kinds of methods to build a stronger house, in order to protect themselves from the invasion of the bad pig. In this version, it shows that the wolves are friendly and peaceful animals, and it somewhat breaks my stereotypes of the wild animal.
